About the Western Wildlife Lab

Welcome to the Western Wildlife Lab, a wildlife research lab at Western Colorado University lead by Dr. Madelon van de Kerk. We study local wildlife ecology and management in Colorado and the Intermountain West. We combine field data collection with advanced quantitative techniques to answer research questions related to wildlife population dynamics, space use, and responses to environmental change. Our goal is to help optimize wildlife conservation and management strategies.
